How to setup:


A. Installing License Server and Host Component:
  1. Install ThinPoint License Server on a dedicated Windows server or Desktop PC During installation select Custom on component screen and uncheck all components except License Server.
  2. Install ThinPoint host component on each PC you whish to access. During Installation select Custom on component screen and uncheck License Server only. Later you will be asked to provide the IP address of the license server installed in step 1. The license server default port is 4439.

B. Creating ThinPoint Universal Client:

  1. ThinPoint host component installer will create a Universal Client on any off-the-shelf USB that allows access to that specific PC.
  2. Compatible with Windows XP profession, Windows 7 professional or above with 1GB RAM.
  3. Compatible with a NAT firewall to use Universal Client without making any changes to your network firewall.

How to setup:

  1. Provision Windows Desktop or Server on your Cloud. We strongly recommend using a 64bit Operating system to allow expanding your Virtual Machine memory beyond Windows 32 bit, 4GB limit. This way you can increase your Desktop users cost effectively, as you expand.
  2. Using Cloud access console, install ThinPoint host component and license server on your Windows Virtual Machine.
  3. Follow the installation process to create ThinPoint Universal Client. Copy and distribute this client to your users.
  4. Close all the ports on your Cloud network.

  2. Install ThinPoint host on the Terminal Servers that you wish to loadbalance for High Presence.
  3. NOTE: Skip Universal Client creation at the end of installation as you will use Direct Access client to access Load Balancer.
  4. During an installation of the ThinPoint host on all of the balanced Terminal servers, select Custom option on component screen and uncheck the Licenses Server and Connection Broker. You may leave the Client Compiler if you wish to provide direct Unviersal Client to that particular servers. You will be prompted to specify the IP address of the Licenses Server.
  5. Once the installation is complete and host is rebooted, access ThinPoint Porvisioning Manager on the dedicated server and configure Connection Broker to access Terminal Servers.
  6. On the same server, access ThinPoint Provisioning Manager and use Direct IP menu to create ThinPoint Direct IP client to access Connection Broker server with IP address and port number as specified in the Connection Broker menu.
